Lot Essay

The candelabra stands, with urn-capped pillars on palm-wrapped tripod claw of Apollo griffin monopodiae, are inspired by Pompeian bronze antiquities such as those manufactured in the late l9th century and illustrated in the 1910 catalogue of Messrs J.Chiurazzi & Fils and S. De Angelis & Fils of Naples.
