SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY, THE KNEEHOLE ADAPTED
The rectangular top with an incurved front and foliate-carved moulded edge with a concave frieze drawer flanked by a further drawer and a panelled cupboard door enclosing a shelf to either side around a recess, the reverse with three banks of three drawers on a foliate carved plinth base, the handles replaced, previously with a gallery, the kneehole extended in depth by 5in. with subsequent reduction in depth of the central bank of drawers, the desk constructed in one piece
30¾ in. (78 cm.) high, 67¼ in. (171 cm.) wide, 36¾ in. (93 cm.) deep
