Lot Essay

William Wilkinson took over the firm of Quentin Kaye at 14 Ludgate Hill in 1807. He was reknown for making patent furniture, especially tables. His sons joined the firm in 1825 and thereafter the stamp of 'WILLIAM WILKINSON & SONS' was used, until their father's death in 1833.
