A small Swiss tinplate overture musical box
No. 2890, playing one overture in three parts, with plain brass bedplate, wound from underside, single section comb of 89 teeth, change/repeat control at the side and start/stop lever, in green painted tin-plate case with the lid decorated with a German hunting horn and oboe bordered in parcel gilt, circa 1850 -5¼in. (13.3cm) wide, the cylinder 3 7/8in. (10cm) wide, (start/stop button missing)
