A HELLENISTIC BRONZE RAM-HEADED PATERA HANDLE
3RD-1ST CENTURY B.C.
The fluted handle with acanthus leaf capital and spreading attachment plate with two curved lobes, the terminal naturalistically modelled as a ram's head with large underslung curling horns and long muzzle; and a bronze strigil, with L-shaped curving blade, the handle decorated with stylized foliate motif, circa 3rd-1st Century B.C.

Wilhelm Horn (1870-1959); acquired from Dr Hartmann in 1938, Cairo, (item one) and from Hoffman, 1935 (item two).
