A BOEOTIAN TERRACOTTA FEMALE FIGURE
LATE 5TH CENTURY B.C.
Standing wearing a peplos, both hands by her sides, wearing high polos with raised back, on raised integral plinth, with remains of red painted decoration, rectangular vent at back, 11 in. (28 cm.) high; an Attic terracotta goddess with archaic facial features, seated on a winged throne with feet on a footstool, wearing himation and diadem, traces of painted decoration, repaired, circa 500 B.C., 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm.) high; and a Campanian terracotta Dionysos mask applique, with wavy beard and long crinkled moustache, his hair in ringlets across the forehead, remains of white and red pigment, early 5th Century B.C., 2¼ in.
