AN OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE CHAMBER CANDLESTICKS
CIRCA 1800, APPARENTLY UNMARKED
Circular and with a gadrooned rim and thumbpiece, the sconce supporting a tapering extinguisher with a detachable nozzle, engraved with the initial N beneath a viscount's coronet and B beneath a duke's coronet
9in. (23cm.) long
The initials are for Horatio, 1st Viscount Nelson (1758-1805) as Viscount Nelson of the Nile and Burnham Thorpe and Duke of Bronte.
