Cuthbert, 1st Baron COLLINGWOOD (1750-1810)
Document signed, 'Order of Battle', Queen, 23 November 1805, this copy to William, 7th Earl of Northesk on the Britannia, the document in an elegant secretarial hand, with names of four ships and their captains added in pencil in another hand, the identifying flags for each ship depicted in watercolour, countersigned by H.R. Cosway, one page, 477 x 345mm, with the wrapper, framed and glazed.
Collingwood's order of battle divides his 22 ships (including a number that had fought at Trafalgar only a month earlier) in three divisions under Duckworth, himself, and Northesk, adding a note regarding the distribution of the ships in the order of battle and sailing.
