Document signed ('Nelson & Bronte'), Victory, 'Madalena Islands,' Sardinia, 14 January 1805, orders addressed to Captain Frank Sotheron of HMS Excellent, 3½ pages, folio, docketed by recipient (some light browning to folds).
Nelson instructs Sotheron to proceed with his public dispatches to Naples, where he is to replace Captain Malcolm and place himself in readiness for further orders, taking the opportunity to revictual his ship, with particular emphasis on supplying fresh beef to the ship's company, as well as 'a sufficient quantity of gratuitous vegetables ... and a few Chests of Oranges if you shall consider the same necessary for their health'.
