Of circular section, the detachable cover engraved with a scene from the Battle of San Domingo, marked on rim and inside cover

The inscription reads: 'Presented to/VICE ADMIRAL/SIR JOHN DUCKWORTH/To commemorate his/gallant and courageous victory/off San Domingo/6th February 1806'
