one with a foliate design of applied yellow silk and couched gilt threads--36 x 12in. (90 x 30cm), 17th century, the other trimmed at both ends with an uncut velvet braid with mermaid cartouches, and a central insertion worked with silver and gilt metal threads with a delicate scrolling pattern--94 x 18in. (235 x 45cm), dating from 17th century (2)
