Lot Essay

The Temple of Clitumnus is an ancient Christian temple which was built some time in the 5th Century overlooking the River Clitumnus. A large natural spring, the Fonti di Clitumno, is the source of the river which the ancient Romans believed was sacred. The building is still in use as a church, dedicated to Christ the Redeemer.
