Lot Essay

In modern history, the Villa Bolognetti is famous for being the residence of the Mussolini family who rented the house during the Second World War. The villa was originally the seat of the Bolognetti family, but at the beginning of the 19th Century, it was purchased by the financier Giovanni Torlonia (1755-1829) and subsequently renamed, Villa Torlonia.
