Blue interlaced L's mark to each, date letters CC for 1780 to the pots, date letter H for 1760 and an unidentified painter's mark of an H to the stand
Each cup of slightly baluster form with loop handle, the domed cover with gilt berry finial, painted in colors with loose bouquets and scattered flower sprays beneath a blue feathered band, gilt line rim; the scalloped footed tray similarly painted
9 in. (22.9 cm.) diameter, the stand (13)

Lot Essay

The mark of a capital H on the present stand that of a flower painter. It is found on pieces dated 1753-1761, 1763 and 1764. See David Peters, Decorator and Date Marks on C18th Vincennes and Sèvres Porcelain, privately printed, 1997, p. 82.
