The serpentine double salt inset with quatrefoil basins edged in gilt, the exterior with concentric bands of cornflower vines entwined around a puce line and a central blue line entwined with berried vine

The present salt is one of nine included in a delivery to Versailles in the first half of 1785 of supplements to the 'Service Guirlandes et Barbeaux' initially ordered two years before.
