Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letters ff for 1783, painter's mark for Cornailles, gilder's mark for Prevost, incised 15
Decorated in two registers separated by a garland of berried myrtle found also on the cover, the shoulder with shaped panels of roses alternate with others of multicolor flowers reserved within elaborate foliate cartouches, the lower portion gilt with floral swags suspended from dots

Lot Essay
Antoine-Toussaint Cornailles is recorded at Sèvres as a flower painter and as a gilder 1755-1800. His colleague Henri-Martin Prévost worked as a gilder from 1757-1797.
