TWO SEVRES CUPS AND SAUCERS
Circa 1795, the first inscribed in puce with RF monogram mark for the République Français and with scrip Sevres mark, the cup incised 6u x, the saucer DC; the second with blue script RF monogram mark, painter's mark for Mme Noualhier, gilder's mark for Chauvaux, the cup incised 42, the saucer incised 42S
The first a flaring cylindrical cup with split strap handle, painted with concentric gilt-edged bands of pink roses and of variant yellow-centered puce and blue flowers on a chocolate brown band; the second a yellow-ground teacup with wishbone handle, the yellow border with a garland of roses entwined with a pale blue ribbon suspending faux hardstone medallions (4)
