A SET OF FOUR EARLY LOUIS XVI WHITE-PAINTED FAUTEUILS
ONE STAMPED 'I. NADAL', CIRCA 1770
Each with an oval incurved back headed by a foliate clasp within a guilloche-carved frame, the padded back, arms and loose cushion seat covered alternately in green and white floral cotton and green and white striped silk, on turned tapering fluted legs, two with typed blue-bordered paper labels inscribed 'Four matching Louis XVI arm chairs signed by Nadal. Painted off white and covered in green silk. Purchased 1963, Maurice Chalom Galerie, 17 Paris, minor variations to carving (4)
