Jean-Baptiste Vassou, maître in 1767.

Established first in the rue Saint Nicolas at the sign of 'La Tete Noire', Vassou's workshop was relocated after 1799 in the rue Saint Antoine. His abundant and somewhat eclectic production, much of which was for the marchand-merciers, included pieces ranging from the Louis XV and Transitional styles through the Louis XVI period. Unlike many of his counterparts, Vassou continued his production and prospered during the Revolution.
