COOKE & SONS LTD LONDON, YORK & CAPETOWN No7038 , the 12in. long telescope with dust cap, objective rack and pinion focusing, counterweight and 6in. dia. vertical circle with silvered scale, twin verniers and magnifiers, bubble level, finescrew adjustment and clamp, raised between two A-frames from the 6in. dia. horizontal circle with enclosed silvered scale, twin verniers and magnifiers, two bubble levels, finescrew adjustment and clamp, on a three-screw tripod mounting, in a well-fitted mahogany case with various adjustment labels in the lid, a manuscript label Yardley Theodolite dated 21-5-13 -- 35.3cm. (14in.) wide; and a 20th-Century oxidised-brass surveying level stamped REYNOLDS PATENT BIRMINGHAM, the 34.2cm.
