painted as a man and a woman with original padded Austrian costumes decorated with gold paper buttons and buckles, beads and embroidery, he carries a horn, she carries a box of necklaces and threads, mounted on wood stands, under dome --6in. (15cm.) high, circa 1830 (slight damage); three paper figures with sewn-on provincial costumes --7in. (17cm.) high (two heads missing); and a pair of composition-headed old lady pen wiper dolls with original clothes, one carrying an umbrella, the other darning a sock, with black felt bases, with hand written inscription reading "Hie! stop Mr. Busman, where are you a going too?" and "I wish as there was a lor, as no young 'ooman shouldn't get married as couldn't mend 'er 'usband's stockings"
