a rare Tri-ang Modern Dolls' House No.52 of three bays and two stories with suntrap, chimneys, side window, flat roof and garage conversion, opening at the front to reveal three rooms with staircase and landing, converted for bombing with taped windows and furnishings and inhabitants including Air Raid Warden, gas mask, oil stove, trolley, home made corrugated paper Anderson shelter, black out curtains made from scraps left over from her own home's black-out curtains, fire bucket, shelter supplies for raid, Pit-a-Pat and Dol-toi pieces, 1939 --33in. (84cm.) wide x 23¼in. (59cm.) high x 19in. (48cm.) deep (garage converted to kitchen, garage doors repaced by opening wall section with windows, some paint loss)
Provenance
Bought in a sale at Daniel Neale's shoe shop in 1940 for 8s 11d, the original listed catalogue price was 15s 4d.

Previously shown at an exhibition of wartime London at the Livesey Museum.
