A HORSMAN'S FIGHTING MACE, POLISH OR HUNGARIAN
Third quarter of the 17th Century
With globular steel head formed of twelve robust rounded flanges each tapering to a concave neck and brazed onto a tubular core, tubular steel haft formed in two stages with astragals at both ends and in the middle, retaining its origiinal short fruitwood grip inlaid with a segmented pattern of horn plaques and pellets, fitted with iron ring for a thong, and horn basal section engraved with large flowerheads
