A GERMAN CLOSE HELMET OF ARMET CONSTRUCTION

With one-piece skull rising to a low embossed roped comb, the base studded with later lining rivets and formed with an embossed roped flange for turning on the gorget, hinged cheek-pieces closed by a hook and eye at the chin (hinges replaced) and pierced with circular arrangements of holes for hearing, and fitted with strongly formed 'bellows' visor closed by a spring-catch on the right-hand cheek-piece (pivots replaced, light pitting, chemically cleaned)
