Of baluster form, finely painted with three panels of parrots, jays and other specimen birds perched among flowering and fruiting branches within entwined gilt bands, blue floral reserves at the shoulder, the flaring neck painted with a garland, on a circular base

Lot Essay

Jean-François Robert, an artist at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Sèvres (1806-34 and 1835-43), decorated opalines by Baccarat and Saint Louis with ornithological designs in enamels as well as gold, silver and platinum from 1843-1855.
