Lot Essay

See note to the preceding lot. Ludwig Moser (Bohemia, 1833-1916) was a glass-engraver under Andreas Mattoni and later a glass-merchant to the Imperial Court. In 1857, he founded a glass-factory at Meierhöfen (now Nové Dvory).

Also see an anonymous sale, Sotheby's, London, 14 December 2004, lot 225 for a similarly executed smaller example.
