Early 20th Century
The rectangular breakfront brèche violette marble top above a conforming case set with three cupboard doors, the central panel decorated with Classical ruins and a flowering urn, with laurel wreath border and musical trophy, opening to three adjustable shelves, the flanking panelled doors decorated with quatrefoil and flowerhead parquetry, each opening to three further adjustable shelves, the sides with similar geometric inlay, the angles as pilasters with foliate capitals suspending laurel, on a plinth base with oak leaves above toupie feet, the locks engraved CT LINKE/SERRURERIE/PARIS, one indistinctly inscribed Milliot, several of the mounts stamped ED, the veneer inscribed to one corner E. Delmiot

The locks on this cabinet are stamped with the marque of the Parisian lockmaker Clément Linke, brother of the celebrated ébéniste François Linke.
