The urn-form clockcase surmounted by a blossoming finial and laurel swags, set with a Roman hour band and an Arabic minute band on a fluted columnar pedestal encircled by the Three Graces bearing floral garlands, above a rectangular plinth base applied on each side with relief plaques depicting cloudborne putti, on four ribbon-tied quiver supports

The model of this clock is based on a marble example signed by the sculptor Tessier. The design of the figures has been attributed to Etienne-Maurice Falconet (d. 1791). An example of the original, from the collection of Isaac de Camondo, is retained by the Louvre.
