A French Renaissance style hardstone-mounted walnut cabinet a deux corps
In the manner of Fourdinois, Third quarter 19th Century
Of architectural form, the superstructure with pediment centred by an oval verde antico marble medallion flanked by female terms, the corners surmounted by volutes supporting recumbent figures, above a frieze centred by an allegorical nude above cupboard door carved in relief with women at a fountain, opening to a single shelf, flanked on either side by further doors carved with columns and a niche enclosing musical nymphs, above three drawers, the lower section with three frieze drawers above a central arched panel depicing Apollo and Daphne, opening to a shelf, flanked by two colonnaded doors carved with nymphs, on a plinth base with turned feet, the pediment with paper labels, one inscribed LE GARDE MEUBLE PUBLIC/18 RUE ST AUGUSTIN/32038/BEDEL & CIE, another with GARDE-MEUBLE MAPLE
