Cal. 72 nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the black dial with applied gold dagger numerals with luminous accents, luminous hands, outer gilt tachymetre and telemetre scales, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registers, in tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with screw back and screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band, stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and deployant clasp stamped 3.59, case, dial and movement signed

The present watch is an exceedingly rare version of reference 6234 as it features the sought after black dial fitted with the small subsidiary dials.

Examples with the large subsidiary dials are described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 254-277, however no example of reference 6234 with black dial is shown in literature.
