Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and applied steel hour markers in 1946 and its subsequent sale on 12 September 1946. This watch has never been offered in public before.
The present watch is one of the most beautiful and best preserved examples of the successful and sought after reference 565. Its dial, finished in a most charismatic two-tone colour scheme, combined with the very technical but yet smooth case proportions add up to a perfect look. It is impressive how the sharp edges have survived in such crisp condition over nearly 60 years. The retailer's signature Gübelin above the subsidiary seconds dial enhances the uniqueness of this fine watch.
Reference 565 was available with either subsidiary or sweep centre seconds: the first with caliber 12'''120, such as the present watch, was launched in 1938. Production of the second series featuring a caliber 12 SC movement started in 1942.
