Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1943 and its subsequent sale on 8 December 1943. Furthermore delivered with the original invoices from Juwelier Schimmelpfeng in Bad Homburg, Germany, for its overhaul in 1991, 1995 and 2000.

Manufacture of reference 1509 was launched in 1941, the model was made either with subsidiary seconds, such as the present watch, or with sweep centre seconds (illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 181, pl. 284).
