Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with enamel dial, Breguet numerals and gilded covers in 1907 and its subsequent sale on 5 March 1909.

Patek Philippe manufactured quarter repeating pocket watches in much fewer examples than the minute repeating version; both variants were generally fitted in openface cases. Quarter repeating watches featuring a hunter case, such as the present watch, are exceedingly rare.

As confirmed in the Extract from the Archives, this watch was manufactured with "gilded" covers, a high quality case finishing lending its case a satined look.
