Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1951 and its subsequent sale on 11 July 1956.

The minute repeating wristwatch is one of the most desirable and rarest trophies in today's collectors market. Due to the extreme cost of production, only a limited number of such 12 lignes movements, supplied by the prestigious ébauche manufacturers Fritz Piguet, were ever made.

Repeating watches, a reminiscence of the past when electric light was not yet available to read the time in the dark, have become the ultimate state of the art device for the demanding connaisseur wanting to enjoy perfect craftsmanship combined with the discreet look of a contemporary wristwatch.

Reference 2524-1 with subsidiary seconds is one of the world's rarest wristwatches. In fact, according to research, the present example is one of only 6 known watches of this reference to have appeared in public to date. Its exclusivity can be compared to other highly desirable complicated wristwatches of Patek Philippe, such as the celebrated World Time wristwatch with two crowns, reference 2523.

The present watch presents itself in excellent and throughout original condition. The dial with the untouched raised hard enamel signature, the retailer's signature and high quality period bracelet originally supplied by Gübelin further enhance its importance.

Gübelin was founded in 1854 and has always been a family enterprise. Located in Lucerne, Switzerland, the company created and retailed superior quality watches and clocks for more than one hundred years. Today, Gübelin has branches throughout Europe.
