With nickel-finished lever movement, 36 jewels, 21k gold rimmed rotor with engraved inscription 1594 - Gerard Mercator - 1994, the silvered dial with black enamel and etched map of Europe, Africa and Asia, the time indicated by hands resembling legs of the early hand-held compasses used by Gerardus Mercator, both moving in an arc over two sectors calibrated for 12 hours and 60 minutes with Arabic numerals, the circular case with stepped bezel, fluted lugs, glazed display snap on back, together with a platinum Vacheron Constantin deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed
