A rare Exclusive Agency contract between Frank Sinatra and William Morris Agency, setting out the terms and conditions for his representation by the Agency, the mimeographed typescript document completed with typescript conditions, and dates in an unknown hand in blue ink, the terms of the contract for ...a period of ONE (1) year... beginning 1st day of June, 1952 and ending on the 30th day of May, 1953..., where the artist agrees to pay the agent a sum equal to TEN (10, the artist section detailing Sinatra's address as C/O Jaffe + Jaffe, 44 Madison Ave, N.Y.C., signed in blue ink by Frank Sinatra

This contract, and that in the following lot, date from an interesting time in Sinatra's career. In 1952, MCA Artists Agency had refused to renew their contract with Sinatra as his career was somewhat in decline. William Morris Agency initailly agreed to sign him up for one year. Following a highly successful year in 1952 - 1953, with Sinatra signing a new record deal with Capitol and playing the part of Maggio in From Here To Eternity, William Morris were keen for Sinatra's next contract with them to be for a longer term of three years.
