A rare typescript letter, signed, from John Lennon to The National Health Service, 22 October, 1962, the letter giving Lennon's address as 251, Menlove Avenue, Liverpool 18, beginning I have received your letter of the 1st instant to say that you have been informed that I left this country in July 1960... and requesting that his name be returned to the National Health Service List, Lennon explains ...I left the country only for an engagement (as a musician) in Germany but returned to this country about three months later..., signed in black ballpoint pen J.W. Lennon, and annotated in an unknown hand in red ballpoint pen not deleted...Reinstate 25.10.62...
