Lot Essay

This show was screened on ATV (Associated TeleVision) on Saturday, 18 April, 1964 and repeated on Saturday, 24 July, 1965 as The Best of Morecambe And Wise. The Beatles performed This Boy and All My Loving and after further sketches between Morecambe and Wise, performed I Want To Hold Your Hand,. There then followed a series of scripted exchanges between John, Paul, George and Eric and Ernie, whilst Ringo (referred to throughout by Eric as "Bingo"), remained on the podium with his drumkit.

The original vendor's uncle worked at Elstree Studio Centre as a lighting engineer, and knowing that his niece was a Beatles fan asked them to sign the script for her.
