CIRCA 1742, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK TO STAND AND FOOT OF POT, STAND WITH PRESSNUMMER 21
The cream-pot of slightly squat bombé form on three paw feet, the double-scroll handle with gilt Laub und Bandelwerk, the spout moulded and enriched in brown and gilt with an acanthus leaf above a shell, the body reserved with two quatrefoil panels painted with figures in river landscapes within gilt and brown line cartouches, the cover similarly decorated below a gilt bud finial, the lobed stand with four similar panels around a larger central panel, within a gilt ropetwist border, gilt line rims (finial restuck, minute areas of wear)
The stand 9½ in. (24.1 cm.) wide
