Modelled with a farm-boy leaning round a tree-stump clad in vine and pulling a goat's horns, the mount on the foot with up-turned leaves, with a spirally-fluted stopper (slight chipping to leaves, lower part with extensive restored chipping, small D-shaped firing crack to neck)

An almost identical scent-bottle from the Rudolf Stein Collection was sold by Glückselig & Wärndorfer, Vienna, 10-12th March 1924, lot 226 (as Chelsea); and another from the Stewart Granger Collection was sold in these Rooms on 20th May 1963, lot 61 (as Chelsea). Two related scent-bottles are illustrated by Kurt Röder, Das Kelsterbacher Porzellan (Darmstadt, 1931), pl. XXI, nos. 112 and 113.
