CIRCA 1765, BLUE F MARK
The centre finely painted by Johann Heinrich Eisenträger with a harbour scene and a distant city on the left, the foreground with a fishing boat with the sails partially lowered and nets over the side, a small rowing boat behind with five figures, one throwing a rope over the ship's helm, the foreground with a post tangled with a cord suspending a lobster pot, the top surmounted by a barrel, within a gilt frame moulded with elaborate pierced rocaille corners, the reverse with two pierced slots for suspension (chipping to upper corners with re-touching to gilding, minute areas of wear)
