Painted with trailing branches of flowering chrysanthemum and peony issuing from blue and lustre rockwork and beside an iron-red fence, the scrolling strap handles with Frauenkopf terminals with lustred headdresses, the domed cover similar decorated and with a bird in flight surmounted with a purple, yellow and green artichoke finial (finial broken and restored and with slightly extended firing crack to rim of cover, the tureen with restoration to bowl and handles and extensively overpainted, crazing to footrim and underside)
