A group of seven 19th century gold mounted hardstone cameos
comprising: one depicting the figure of Eros seated on a rock holding a garland with butterfly, cf. Lippold, pl. CXXVI, no.1 for a similar composition by Giovanni Pichler; two dipicting the heads of the Roman Emporers Augustus and Vespasian in profile to the left, the first in pendant mount the second mounted as a brooch; one depicting the head of Neptune in profile to the left, in brooch mount; one of a female head, possibly Dionysus in profile to the left, in brooch mount; one of shaped form depicting the head and shoulders of a classical female within chased pendant mount; and an oval larva cameo depicting the profile head of a bearded man possibly the Emporer Antonius Pius, the gold mount with Vatican mark.
