Lot Essay

It is unusual to find complete sets of garnitures, including its spatula, as these pieces are easily separated. Other garniture sets produced in other materials such as champleve enamel, Canton enamel and ceramic in imitation of bronze, from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, are illustrated in A Special Exhibition of Incenser Burners and Perfumers Throughout the Dynasties, 1994, nos. 86, 88 and 89 respectively.
