The tapering shaft deeply carved with a scholar in a landscaped garden surrounded by three attendants, one of whom plays a wind instrument under a pine tree, above two quatrefoil panels and wavy and floral bands, the tip with a chrysanthemum flowerhead, the cover similarly decorated with figures in landscape, all between decorative bands
