Lot Essay

No other bowl of this design appears to be published. Cf. a slightly smaller Yongzheng-marked bowl covered inside and out with a similar buff-coloured glaze but without any incised decoration, from the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Kangxi Yongzheng Qianlong, Hong Kong, 1989, p. 306, pl. 135. Another bowl with this glaze colour with incised and reserved floral designs around the exterior is illustrated by R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, Vol. 2, London, 1994, pl. 814.
