The finely potted bowl with steep flaring sides, the exterior delicately painted with a butterfly in flight above a flowering and fruiting gourd vine, detailed with two ripe fruit, one of which with its burst skin revealing red seeds, growing beside bamboo sprays, the branches turning over the lipped rim of the bowl to a continuous pattern on the interior with a further butterfly in flight, the cover similarly painted with the same design on the domed exterior and underside
