WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)

Finely painted in cobalt of intense purplish-blue tones, on the domed cover with an ascending and a descending dragon confronted on a 'flaming pearl' amidst flames and cloud-scrolls, the rounded sides of both box and cover with the Eight Buddhist Emblems intertwined on a curly lotus scroll, the rims with a narrow zig-zag band with trefoil scrolls
