A LARGE LONGQUAN CELADON BULB BOWL
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY

Strongly potted with low sides inturned at the mouthrim, supported on three animal-mask feet, crisply moulded on the exterior with leafy flowering lotus scrolls below raised bosses at the mouth, all covered in a sea-green glaze, except for the plugged base and the centre of the interior burnt orange and revealing a moulded design of a peony blossom surrounded by leaves
