The most heavily illustrated early Italian edition of Plutarch's Lives, the earlier ones with only the illustration of Theseus and the later ones, up to 1538, never containing more than fifty-two woodcuts. These seventy-eight cuts, illustrating mythological scenes and episodes in Greek and Roman history, therefore appear here for the first time. They are described in great detail by Essling. Censimento CNCE 30046; Essling 597; Sander 5785; not in Adams.
